More listening practice

Hello.

Your behaviour during our last lesson on Saturday 30 May was not great.
You were very distracted and you did not concentrate on our last opportunity to prepare for the exam together :-(

I recommend that you continue to prepare for the exam.
You need to review the vocabulary lists in your book, Storyfun for Movers, for all the stories.
You can test your memory of the vocabulary for all the stories with the quizlets I prepared.

I also recommend you listen to all the other listening exercises in your book.

You can find the listening tracks by following the links below.

Please remember to take colouring pencils with you, because I will not be able to give you any.

See you on Saturday.

Homework for Saturday 16 May

We are going to do the simulation for your Movers test next week.

We will have time to other things, as well.

I'd like you to study unit 4 of your Storyfun for Movers book, the story called "Rabbit and Cocketta Bird".

You can start by playing the Quizlet game here.

After you play the Quizlet game, you can read the story.

After you read the story, you can do the exercises.
In particular, I'd like you to do exercises B (p. 32), D and E (p. 33), H (p. 34) and I (p. 35).
These exercises are very similar to the exercises you have in the Reading and Writing part of your Movers test.

Good luck. See you next week.

"Would you like to go shopping tomorrow?"

In our lesson today we saw a question with "would you like".

This is how we use this expression:

Affirmative: I would like to go shopping tomorrow.

Interrogative: Would you like to go shopping tomorrow? (Remember our friend, "A S I C", for when we ask a question.)

Negative: I wouldn't like to go shopping tomorrow.

Often we use the contracted form: I'd like to ....

This is the form of the short answer to a question:

Paul: Would you like to go the cinema tomorrow evening?
Susan: Yes, I'd like to.

Sometimes we want to say that we really like an idea or suggestion.
We can say: "I'd love to".

Paul: Would you like to go to the cinema tomorrow evening?
Susan: Oh yes, I'd love to go. I really want to see the new film.

Do we ALWAYS use the infinitive with "would like to"? In full sentences, yes, we do. In short answers, we can omit the verb after "to", but we must keep "to". For example: I'd like to.

If you have any questions about "I would like to", we can talk about them next week.

Let's talk!

Have a look at this image.

Think about all the things you can see in the picture.

Describe what you can see.

And why not invent a story about what the children are doing?

Preparing for the simulation of your Movers test

Today we practised the different parts of the Movers test.

We practised the Reading and Writing part.
We watched the Cambridge English video of the Movers Speaking test with Arthur.
We listened to an example Listening test.
Remember: you need colouring pencils for the Listening test.

Now you know exactly what is in the Movers test.

Next week we will do a complete simulation, with the Speaking test.
Everyone must be present for the lesson.

See you next week.

MOVERS test - Listening Part 2 - practice activity 4

{Movers Listening test Part 2}
{Practice 4}

Here is the fourth of the practice activities for Movers Listening Part 2.

You need three things.

First, you need the questions for the the Listening exercise.

Second, you need the two MP3 tracks for the exercise. The first track is the example.
The second track has the information you need to answer the questions.

Now you are ready to do the exercise.

Remember: you can listen two times, but no more than two.

You can write you answers in your notebook if you prefer, or you can print the question page and write the answers on that page.
